Alnmouth, known for its lively pubs, is 4.5 miles away (10 minutes by car). Craster, 7 miles off (15 minutes), is known for its kipper smokehouse. Amble, 9 miles away (20 minutes), has a harbour worth a stroll. Bamburgh Castle, 17.5 miles distant (35 minutes), makes a good day trip.
